About Us
History:
William Jones Clifton Ltd. was first founded in 1838 and based in Silver Street just off of Oxford Street, London, where the company specialised in the manufacture of "die sink engraving".
In the early 1900's the business relocated to new premises close to St. Paul's Cathedral, but the building was severely damaged by bombing during World War Two, resulting in another relocation to Hanson Street, close to the original location off of Oxford Street.
Stan Pratley joined the company as a typesetter in August 1966, three months before another relocation, to King's Lynn in Norfolk, from where the business expanded into a geographically based group of manufacturing operations throughout England and Scotland by the late 1980's.
In 1999, the company was sold to a Dutch rubber stamp manufacturer who immediately closed all of the regional locations in order to concentrate production into one large centrally based operation in Birmingham City Centre.
Present Day:
Stan Pratley and Kiran Mistry bought the business in July 2002.
As an independent company, WJC are pleased to offer all Brand leading products used in the stamp industry, and new integrated network systems allow the business to operate with a smaller, flexible
